Preparing the Ground: Exciting Progress on Our T-Mobile Beautification Project

We are thrilled to share an exciting update on the momentum building around our T-Mobile Hometown Grant.

Over the past week, we welcomed an incredible group of workers and volunteers who helped us lay new garden beds with care, precision, and a level of expertise that truly elevated the entire site. Their hands-on dedication reflects the spirit of partnership and purpose that is carrying this project forward.

These beds represent more than landscaping, they are the groundwork for a long-term beautification strategy for the city of Prichard. As each bed was placed, we felt ourselves preparing the soil not only for flowers and native plants, but for deeper community engagement, collective pride, and the shared future we’re building together.

That future continues on December 13, when we invite the entire community to join us for a Community Planting Day and Holiday Celebration. This will be a time for neighbors, families, and partners to gather, imagine, and join our broader beautification efforts. We want you and the family to plant trees, drink hot chocolate, listen to holiday music and enjoy the season.

In the background, we’ve been working diligently with the City of Prichard to secure a greenhouse that will allow us to cultivate our own plants, ensure their safety, and sustain the project long beyond the initial grant period. This greenhouse will make it possible to grow what we need locally, expand volunteer opportunities, and build a pipeline of plants that can continue feeding beautification efforts year-round.

We are deeply grateful for T-Mobile’s partnership and their belief in a long-term, community-rooted vision. Their support is making it possible to move from ideas to implementation, from project to ongoing practice.

We also want to recognize our core partners, whose collaboration makes this effort not only possible but powerful:

  • City of Prichard

  • Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Mobile Chapter

  • GroundWorks Mobile County

  • and the many organizations and community members lending their time, talent, and heart

Together, we are building something that will last — something that reflects the resilience, creativity, and pride of Prichard. Stay tuned for more updates, and mark your calendar for December 13. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
